JOB: Graduate Research Assistantship on Campus

The College of Education is seeking a Graduate Research Assistant to work with the Director of Development and Research Operations. This person in this position will work closely with the Director on a variety of development, research-related and grant projects. Individual must be able to work 19 hours per week. Salary rate will be based on qualifications. The candidate selected must pass a criminal background check.

Description of Duties:
The graduate assistant will possess high level research skills.
- Search and find grant funding opportunities
- Assist in collaborations between the College of Education, other campus departments and/or other agencies
- Manage College of Education alumni and donor data
- Assist in writing grant proposals for submission to funding agencies
- Assist with surveys, data collection, analysis, evaluation, etc.
- Assist with report writing, presentations, articles, papers, etc.
- Other related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Currently enrolled TAMUCC Graduate Student
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and statistical software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English & Spanish
- Some experience with budget management
- Experience with marketing and social media, and web page outreach
- Experience or knowledge regarding public and higher education
- Experience in fundraising, development and relationship building
Position to be filled immediately and will be considered for continuation on a semester by semester basis. The position will remain open until filled.

Database Research Assistant

- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work as a team member and contribute to accomplishing the group’s goals.
Job Duties:
The hired student will primarily serve as the developer of the online databaseGecoServ.org (version 2), for the Socio-Economics Group at the Harte Research Institute. As GecoServ 2 developer, the student will be responsible for the database’s programming, development, and functioning. He or she will also work closely with the Institute’s staff and IT research manager to guarantee the project’s goals are accomplished.

Job Duties:
Work with the Harte Research Institute Socio-Economic Group to develop and populate a database with information concerning organizations (federal, state, and local government agencies; universities; non-governmental organizations; and the private sector) working in the Gulf of Mexico (75%).
Support the Harte Research Institute Socio-Economic Group in their ongoing activities and research (25%).
This position is for 10-20 hours per week and is continuous.
