Scholarship & Funding Resources:
Click the headers below for scholarship resources- Prepare for your scholarship search early.
- Do not ignore scholarships that are local or those for small amounts. They add up!
- Start by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Visit the TAMU-CC Office of Student Financial Assistance web site for some funding resources.
- Do not rely on only one source for scholarship searches.
- Talk with your department head and financial aid office for advice.
- Check with professional and trade associations in your field.
- Apply for all scholarships you are eligible to win, not just one or two.
- Stay organized.
- Keep track of deadlines and materials required to complete an application.
- Make copies of all materials sent.
- Mail application materials via registered mail.

- BEWARE OF SCHOLARSHIP SCAMS: Money flows to the student, not the other way around! And, that no legitimate scholarship sponsor can guarantee that you will win an award. Beware of any scholarship that requires you to pay for a chance to be considered or guarantees you will win.
Tax Benefits for Education: Information Center: Here you will find a variety of tax credits, deductions and savings plans available to taxpayers to assist with the expense of higher education.

Scholarships for Minorities and New Americans: This guide features many different scholarship opportunities and competitions for minorities and new Americans seeking financial assistance.
Hispanic Scholarship Fund: A source for students of Hispanic heritage.
The Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation: A source for college juniors with exceptional leadership potential who are committed to careers in government, the nonprofit or advocacy sectors, education or elsewhere in the public service and to provide them financial support for graduate study, leadership training, and fellowship.
Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation: A source for the son/daughter or grandchild of a U.S. Marine, or for an active duty or reserve U. S. Marine, a U.S. Marine who has received an Honorable Discharge, or Medical Discharge.
State Farm Insurance Doctoral Dissertation Research Grant: The Doctoral Dissertation Award is designed to stimulate research and development of new knowledge in the fields of insurance/risk management, business, and education.
The American Indian College Fund: Provides scholarship support to American Indian students attending colleges and universities.
Ayn Rand Institute Essay Contests — Ayn Rand Novels: The Ayn Rand Institute sponsors annual essay contests that offer 521 prizes and $81,000 in prize money every year.
The Collegiate Inventors Competition: Each year up to 12 finalists in Graduate and Undergraduate Divisions receive an all-expenses paid trip to Washington DC to present their work to a judging panel of famous scientists and inventors. The top Graduate prize is $15,000, the top Undergraduate Prize is $10,000. Other prizes will be awarded to select finalists. Academic advisors of each winning entry also receive a cash award.
International Financial Aid and College Scholarship Search: A resource for financial aid, college scholarship and grant information for U.S. and international students wishing to study abroad.
Union Sponsored Graduate Scholarship Search: This database describe scholarships, with details about eligibility, application deadlines and contact information from various Labor Unions.
U. S. Government Grants and Loans: Online resource for over 130 government grants and loans (scholarships, fellowships, traineeships) related to education.
Every Chance Every Texan: Contains a list of Scholarships and Other Financial Aid Programs.
Portable Fellowships: Contains a list of Federally Funded Portable Fellowships and Portable Fellowships from Independent Organizations. Portable graduate fellowships, unlike institutional fellowships, can be applied to the institution of higher education of the student’s choice.
Fulbright Program for U.S. Students: The largest U.S. international exchange program offering opportunities for students, scholars, and professionals to undertake international graduate study, advanced research, university teaching, and teaching in elementary and secondary schools worldwide.
College For All Texans Grant Program: Although they are not currently accepting applications, still check periodically to see if the status changes.
Stephanie's Song for Texas A&M CC: $500--Requirements: must be single female, age 35 or older, whose life has been touched by cancer (friend or family member), and is interested in a "helping" career such as social worker, nurse, etc.
CBCF Blue Rose: $500--Requirements: must be single female, age 35 or older, whose life has been touched by cancer (friend or family member), and is interested in a "helping" career such as social worker, nurse, etc.
Jerry Albert/Blue Rose: $500--Requirements: must be single female, age 35 or older, whose life has been touched by cancer (friend or family member), and is interested in a career in marketing, sales or communications.
AAUW Fellowships and Grants: One of the world's largest sources of funding for graduate women, AAUW is providing more than $3 million in funding for more than 200 fellowships and grants to outstanding women and nonprofit organizations in the 2009-10 academic year. Learn more about each of AAUW's five fellowships and grants for the upcoming Academic Year.
Imagine Cup: A global student technology competition hosted by Microsoft. Contestants are tasked with developing, deploying, and maintaining IT systems that are efficient, functional, robust, and secure. Finalists are eligible for a grant of cash, software, invaluable connections, and support for taking their projects to market.
